“So far I’m mightily impressed. Arrived on a pallet in a large sack, and a polythene wrapper to ensure everything kept dry. The wood is so beautiful it really does seem a pity to burn it. As a first time buyer of logs (apart from the garage variety) I would definitely buy again from Dalby Firewood, admittedly tried to keep it local. It’s a 10 from Nige👏”

“Dalby Firewood Kiln Dried Ash has proved to be the best wood for my needs. However, this year my wallet has been severely tested (Price in 2021 £190 price in 2023 £400). I have seriously considered several other options. Buying bags of Kiln Dried Birch, at £24.95 a pop, which burned fiercely well. My wife's choice was to pay as we go, mine was for a 2m cubed crate. Testing two bags of Birch versus the equivalent cubic area of Dalby Ash ended up with the Birch burning for a total of 50hrs versus the Ash burning for 62hrs. Dalby performed much better, around 17%, and convinced my wife that buying Dalby Ash was the right choice. As a bonus, the pallet will provide around about £25 - £50 kindling depending upon your source. If you can be bothered taking out the nails and cutting in up of course. A variety of wood types are available and the crate is a work of art and holds around standard size 490 chunks. Dalby Firewood, my Number One Choice Never been disappointed”

“I purchased a bag of Dalby Gold in May and the contents were fine for my new log burner, so I ordered another bag of the exactly same product in September, however after delivery when I opened the bag, I found a totally different selection. This second batch has logs of varying lengths and their size in most cases are too large without further splitting to fit my log burner. (see photo first batch at bottom, 2nd batch above). Not sure if I will order again.”

Hi Thanks for the review. The logs on the bottom are standard/thin cut and the logs on the top are standard cut. You ordered standard cut both times. If you had of notified us on receipt of the goods we could have done something about the issue but you have failed to report any issue at all. We can not deal with problems if we are not aware of them. Dealing with issues that are brought to our attention is what makes us different from other suppliers. P.S I am very sure that the logs on the top will fit into a standard woodburner. If they dont then you need standard/thin cut logs. Hope this helps for future.

“This is the second time we have used Dalby and we are again very pleased with the service provided. The wood is perfectly dry, cut to size and arrives in a convenient pallet. We have a small log burner and a fire pit and use both fairly frequently over the winter. 1 pallet lasted us beautifully and is competitively priced. This year there was an issue with the delivery which had nothing to do with Dalby. Dalby maintained contact throughout and were extremely helpful. The issue was resolved quickly and satisfactorily. The handling of this issue, more than anything else, will assure our continued custom with the company.”
