“Great service, I managed to bring my delivery day forward by 1 day with only a few days notice. Wood was very dry, should burn very well. Not sure the bag was quite the volume advertised though. To be 0.8 cubic metres the bag would need to measure 1m X 1m X 80cm, which it did but only because the the middles of the sides at the top of the bag were stretched, so it was probably more like 0.6-0.7 cubic metres. The firm was great to buy from and the quality of wood was excellent, but I would probably by a crate next time to make sure I got the amount I thought I had ordered.”

Bags are not used as a measuring device for the exact reason you mentioned above. The bags stretch and move when being filled. The volume of wood is measured in a solid container as per trading standards guidelines, and exactly 0.8m3 is loaded in to the bags. You mentioned the bag had stretched, but yet the bag was still full. This is because the bags are overfilled during bagging to be able to hold the measured amount. Sorry you felt that you hadn't received the correct amount, but be assured all the measurements are 100% correct.

“Ordered another 3 bags of hardwood logs last week, delivered on time & placed exactly where I wanted them. Only minor gripe is that this batch has a much bigger water content than the last, some logs are as high as 25% & take longer to burn plus give off more smoke. They will dry out over time & I would order again.”

Thanks for the feedback. The moisture content average of the seasoned is an average of 18% or less. This does mean that some thicker logs will be higher than others, but the average batch content should be 18%. Please advise if this is not the case and we will swop the logs over. Thanks

“Very happy with the delivery arrangements but can't comment on the quality of the logs yet (they look & feel fine) as our log burner won't be in for a few weeks yet !”

“Really good quality logs delivered and protected from the weather, deliveries later in the season last year did vary with log size we need the smallest grade cut as we only have a small burner and a lot of the logs late last year were simply to big and I needed to chop further with an axe But generally very happy with the service”

“We only got the wood last week and haven't used it yet, but we are pleased with the amount and the quality. The delivery driver was great, but we think he should have had a partner, given how heavy the pallet was.”

“When I ordered on the phone, I was promised an email to tell me WHEN IT WAS ABOUT TO BE DELIVERED. I need to know this because it has to be left at the side of the main road. No email was received to tell me when it was on its way, & it was only by chance that I was at home when it was delivered. I do not wish to lose any of my precious logs & would appreciate better warning next time. With thanks, Jean White.”

“Aug 2015. Delivery was towards the end of the delivery day (08:30 - 17:30) but I could have called up earlier to find out the timings if I had read the info sooner. The logs arrived all neatly stacked & wrapped on a pallet, so if you can have them delivered to your storage area it would be a doddle. Unfortunately I had to transfer ours but I did get a good look at them. All the logs are cut to the exact size we need for our small wood burner. Can't say anything about their burning quality as we haven't lit the fire yet, but they look & smell great! The delivery pallet make brilliant kindling too!”

“We have found Dalby Firewood very good for suppling wood for our stove. It is very conveniently delivered in a large bag and can be dropped just where we need it. The wood is just as stated and burns slowly, yet gives out a lot of heat. The staff are pleasant and helpfull.”

Mr Taylor. Sorry to hear that you had to split a few of the logs. I noticed your order was for 25cm logs, with a standard cut thickness. The option is available online to select thicker, or thinner cut. Might i suggest ordering the thin cut next time, this will ensure you do not have to split any that are too thick. “Experienced really good service from Dalby Firewood from ordering through to final product. The website was really easy to use - great to be able to pay online rather than cash or cheque - and the wood was delivered for free within the 5 working days as promised. As with all log deliveries we had a wrestle the enormous dumpy sack from where it was left on our driveway into the shed, but that's pretty standard and the delivery driver helpfully put it in the dryest most sheltered possible location. The quality of the logs is excellent. We were using 2-3 logs a night from another company, but these are far superior in size and burn beautifully. Would definitely order again.”
