“Very pleased with the performance of the gold bulk bag kiln dried logs and average readings on my moisture meter of 5 - 6%. My only issue is that the courier delivery arrangements are to 'kerb side' and, having a long and slightly uphill driveway, where others will deliver to top of my driveway, may well deter me from repeat purchase - which is a shame as your customer service, approach, price and delivery to time are all very good. So said, the delivery driver on this occasion was really helpful and this was greatly appreciated. But had he not been, this would have caused a lot of avoidable work and time cost.”

Thankyou for your review. The delivery arrangements are to kerbside with the delivery vehicle as the pallet delivery companies are not allowed to back onto private property. They are not insured to do this. The drivers however always wheel the pallets to your desired location wherever physically possible. Glad to here that the driver was doing his job and you are satisfied with the service. Many thanks.

Thank you for your kind review. We are sorry that the delivery could not reverse on to your property. This is not our policy, it is a the policy of the pallet delivery company. For future reference sir please make sure you read the delivery terms and conditions before acceting them as it also states upon ordering on the website that "delivery is kerbside and the driver will wheel the pallet to you desired location". Glad you are please with the products.

“Last time we ordered the ash and were totally satisfied. We though we would have a change this time and ordered oak, unfortunately we are not as happy with this as the ash. We get a lot of smoke when burning some of the logs and when we tested with a meter it showed quite a high moisture content. Cannot fault the delivery which was excellent”

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're sorry to hear you weren't happy with the product, Oak does do the job of coal and therefore doesn't burn in the same way as Ash or Birch. “I have been buying this bulk fire wood since we installed a wood stove 3 years ago. It is always of high quality: burns hot with a low water content. Delivery is prompt and problem free My only reason for scoring a GOOD and not VERY GOOD is because the wood comes in a use-once plastic builders bag which is not eco-friendly.”

Thank you for your review and your custom over the last few years. The issue we have with the bags Mr Coal is we are tied with health & saftly laws as these are single trip bags. The bags do stretch a considerable amount and it would be very dangerous to re-use the bags. Also we do collect the bags on our return and the used bags get recycled. This is the most eco- friendly solution.

“Good quality ash wood with great heat output. Although it seems quite expensive to purchase a smaller order If you have a multi fuel burner one log placed on a few coals will burn for approx 45minutes making it very economical compared to other wood types. Excellent customer service.”

“It's the first we have had logs delivered so some friends recommended Dalby Firewood. Ordering the firewood was easy and the lady we spoke to was very pleasant and helpful. The delivery came within a few days and the driver was also pleasant and dropped the bag of logs directly into the garage. We will certainly use Dalby Firewood in future.”

“Excellent wood and very well presented. My only issue was with the delivery itself. I included a caveat with the order that a very large truck would not be able to access the property. The wood arrived on an eighteen ton truck and had to be left at the end of a very long drive and moved by hand. Not ideal.”

“Wood delivered promptly (driver very helpful positioning the crate in a good position for us). Moisture content reading around 10% . Had a couple of fires so far and very happy with the results. Most logs to the specified size but a few are approaching 20cm in width - I may end up splitting them myself as I'm using a smaller wood burner (hence only 'good' rating).”

“There was a slight problem with the delivery as the vehicle was initially too big, so the driver had to go back to the depot and change to a smaller vehicle. But he made it in the end, and we are delighted with the quality of the logs. They burn beautifully!”

“nice dry wood, a few too many small pieces for our liking as our fire guzzles wood so burning them was like burning matchsticks, about 25% of the tall container we ordered where too small compared but other than that very good burn times and temps”

“Great service, I managed to bring my delivery day forward by 1 day with only a few days notice. Wood was very dry, should burn very well. Not sure the bag was quite the volume advertised though. To be 0.8 cubic metres the bag would need to measure 1m X 1m X 80cm, which it did but only because the the middles of the sides at the top of the bag were stretched, so it was probably more like 0.6-0.7 cubic metres. The firm was great to buy from and the quality of wood was excellent, but I would probably by a crate next time to make sure I got the amount I thought I had ordered.”

Bags are not used as a measuring device for the exact reason you mentioned above. The bags stretch and move when being filled. The volume of wood is measured in a solid container as per trading standards guidelines, and exactly 0.8m3 is loaded in to the bags. You mentioned the bag had stretched, but yet the bag was still full. This is because the bags are overfilled during bagging to be able to hold the measured amount. Sorry you felt that you hadn't received the correct amount, but be assured all the measurements are 100% correct.
